Juist in numbers

Here you will find interesting facts and figures about the island of Juist.

The island has a length of 17 kilometers and is therefore the longest East Frisian island. In some places the width is only 500 meters.

Juist is 16.4 square kilometers and has 1515 inhabitants. In the high season there are four times as many tourists.

The dunes of Juist are up to 22 meters high.

In the west the sea removes the dunes and so the island moves slowly from west to east together with the wind direction.

The Wadden Sea around Juist is part of the UNESCO World Natural Heritage.

The beaches have three out of three stars for their excellent water quality.
